About Strike Daekins
Strike Daekins is a small-scale, (as in one woman-operated!) costume business specializing in historically inspired fashions with close attention to detail and authenticity. Established by Meaghan Fuller in 2006, the business has been hosted at many different Renaissance Faires and cons along the East Coast. In addition, Meaghan's detailed and exquisite handfasting cloths have been featured in hundreds of wedding ceremonies around the world.
About MEaghan
Strike Daekins was dreamed of, and built from the ground up, by myself, Meaghan Fuller.
I am a full time, homeschooling, mother to 3 wonderful daughters. I have built this business around the ability to stay with them and work from home, teach my kids, and keep them close.
In 2002 I began my sewing adventure, which at the time, was still just a hobby.
It was also that year that I became enthralled with the magic of the Lord of the Rings. And designing. And creating.
Sewing and designing and my love for studying historical garments became my passion.
I have continued on with this pursuit for the past 20 years, evolving over time and incorporating new avenues of deign.
In 2006 I decided to venture a little further, and took my (at the time) very *small* costume booth to the Virginia Renaissance Faire.
It was there I not only furthered my business and career, but I met my future husband that season too.
We have been married since 2007.
Year 2010 is when I quit my day job and devoted myself full-time to raising my fledgling business from the ground up. I made the investment, took out a loan (paid it off), and purchased a wonderful Viking sewing machine. Two summers later, I had the business successful enough that I bought a second machine, identical to the first. I now own a separate building for my studio and workshop behind our home, and 3 intricate Viking embroidery machines.
In addition to creating one of a kind art, animals are another life-long passion of mine.
